Sending and receiving of DSC (Digital Selective Calling) messages

Our unique DSC decoding algorithm allows the extraction of important safety information from weak and distorted radio spectrum. Compared to the hardware DSC modems, the TransOceana DSC decoder can receive significantly more messages, which may contain life-critical information. Marintel © TransOceana DSC Decoder supports VHF and MF-HF bands.

GMDSS operator console

Marintel © TransOceana GMDSS console allows system users to scroll through the received DSC, NBDP, Inmarsat and NAVTEX messages, send, archive and search the messages, and use the MMSI database (which is being constantly populated). GMDSS console has an ergonomic and customizable interface designed for continuous 24/7 operation.

NAVTEX traffic sending and receiving

NAVTEX is an international automated system for navigational and meteorological warnings, forecasts, and other safety-related information for ships. Our system allows for the efficient transmission of NAVTEX messages to ensure timely communication and enhance situational awareness for maritime operators. Additionally, system operators may see the received messages in the console application.

Compliance with the IMO/SOLAS requirements for A1, A2, A3 sea areas

Our system utilizes equipment that covers A1, A2, and A3 sea areas, ensuring comprehensive communication coverage for vessels operating in coastal, wider coastal, and global maritime areas. This allows for seamless and reliable communication throughout different sea regions, enabling efficient and effective maritime operations.

Visual dispatching

The system allows for the superimposition of AIS traffic information onto marine charts. Operators can visualize real-time vessel positions, track their movements, and obtain additional information such as vessel name, speed, course, and other relevant data. “Visual dispatching” feature allows to send DSC messages to the desired vessel with a right-click on the vessel’s icon. Received distress messages are displayed in the pop-up on the nautical charts with the sound alert.

NBDP telex messaging

The capability to send and receive NBDP (Narrow Band Direct Printing) traffic allows for long-range ship-to-shore and ship-to-ship communication. NBDP enables vessels to exchange messages, weather reports, and other important information with shore stations and other vessels over extended distances, enhancing communication capabilities and supporting efficient maritime operations.

Voice communication console, recording and playback function

The newest release of the Marintel © TransOceana software package includes the voice communication and recording/playback feature. System operators can use the connected VHF and MF-HF radios for voice communication on selectable channels and frequencies. Voice communications are being recorded and stored for future listening, analysis and archiving utilizing the comfortable timeline-style interface.

Devices monitoring and control

The system supports multiple and mixed types of radios and can operate iCom, Tait, Barrett, Jotron, TP-Radio, Furuno and many other devices via proprietary radio handlers. Radios could be controlled via VOX, dry-contacts/relays, NMEA and IP; we could also add support for your model of the radio if required.
